Cassantec is short for Cassandra Technologies, relating to the prophet Cassandra in Greek mythology. Cassandra predicted critical future events in an attempt to provide early warnings for her kin. Incredible as they seemed, all her predictions proved accurate. Cassantec seeks to mimic Cassandra's mythological ability in the field of predictive maintenance (PdM) through a new blend of best-practice computational technologies.
One of our customers recently noted that asset operators have a choice between two advisors from Greek mythology: Cassandra and Pandora. Cassandra predicting what will happen, and Pandora opening the (gear)box to see what has happened. Eventually, Pandora will find out whether Cassandra was right.
